Our children are growing so fast, learning so much, and are now transitioning on to the next level! Even though we can't gather in person at this time, we want to celebrate these important milestones for our young learners. Please join us for our 2020-2021 Transitioning Children Car Parade!
Each of IAFCs directly-operated early learning sites will have its own car parade (site-specific details below). To help keep things extra safe, there will be multiple parades for each site organized by the child's classroom. Here's what to look forward to on June 16 and 17!
- The Transitioning Car Parade is only for children transitioning from Early Head Start/Prevention Initiative to Head Start/Preschool for All and for children transitioning from Head Start/Preschool for All to Kindergarten.
- Please remain in your car at all times during the car parade.
- Staff will be present to direct you of where to go in your car and how to proceed in the parade.
- Arrive at your site at the time indicated for your child's classroom.
- Your child should be seated in the back seat on the passenger side.
- Please make a simple sign with your child's name and teacher's name and place it in the passenger window of your car (please wait to tape it to the window until you arrive in the parking lot).
- During the parade, you will be asked to open the trunk of your car. A member of IAFCs staff will place any items that were left in your child's locker and some fun transition items.
- Everyone in your car who is two years of age or older MUST wear a face covering or mask.
- Since it's a celebration, consider decorating your car!
